Carmel Imelda War, 48, a resident of Medanales passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2011. Carmel worked at Wal-Mart in Española and loved her Wal-Mart family and friends. She also had a passion for dancing. She was preceded in death by her mother, Isabel H. War; maternal grandparents, Santana and Santiago Herrera; paternal grandparents, Cirila and Margarito War. She is survived by her father, Margarito War and Step-mom, Ida; brothers/sisters: Marie War, Laura and husband Jordan Sr., Jimmy and wife Persinia, Isabel and husband Virgil, Robert; nieces/nephews: Melissa, Jessy, Joshua, Estevan and wife Ariana, Jordan Jr. and wife Michelle, Jordan III, Ventura, Isaias, Delilah, Chavela, Edwina, Juanito, Santiago and Esperanza, Vanessa and husband Jose, Lucia Katalyna, Jesus and Antonio; godchildren: Jordan Jr., Margarita (Chavela); a very dear & special cousin, Diana War; god-mother, Juanita Padilla; many dear aunts, uncles, cousins & friends. Public visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. A second rosary will be recited on Thursday, June 30, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. San Antonio Catholic Church in Medanales. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 1, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at San Antonio Catholic Church in Medanales with burial to follow at Medanales Cemetery.
