Carl Gerald Trujillo

Carl “Gerald” Trujillo, 63, of Espanola, NM, passed away on June 27, 2023, from a short illness.

Carl is preceded in death by his parents Cayetano and Esneda Trujillo; brother Alex Trujillo; sister Mary Martinez; Goddaughter Valerie Trujillo; nieces and nephews Joey Rael, Rudy Rael, Tessy Martinez, Rena Rael and Devin Martinez; sister-in-law Deborah Rael.

He is survived by his sister, caretaker and mother figure Lorraine Trujillo, Lydia Rael, Gloria Martinez, all of Espanola, NM; brother Rudy Rael of Grants, NM, Trine Real (Jane) of Denver, CO, Ray Rael (Lucy) of Las Lunas, NM, Cayenteno Trujillo (Darlene) of Chimayo, NM and Ronny Trujillo (Connie) of Espanola, NM; many loved nephews and nieces; and ex-wife Lori Lopez and family.

He will be loved and missed by all the family, but mostly by sister Lorraine.

Carl was a jack all of trades with a love for carpentry.  He always had a smile on his face and was a man with a huge heart.  He had an abundance of friends from all walks of life.  He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.  His sister Lorraine spent every day with him.  They had a special bond filled with love.  She will miss him immensely.

Public Viewing will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at 6:00 pm, with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 pm at DeVargas Funeral Home in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel in  Espanola, NM.  On Monday, July 17, 2023, a Rosary will be at 11:30 am, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Espanola, NM, with a Christian Burial Mass to follow at 12:00 pm.  Burial will take place at Los Llanitas Cemetery in Truchas, NM following Mass.
