Candelaria "Candie" Gomez

Candelaria “Candie” Gomez, 92, resident of Santa Fe, NM, passed away on March 28, 2023.

She is preceded in death by her parents Juan and Andreita Gomez; brothers Hilario "Larry" Gomez and wife Emily, Clyde Gomez, and Tony Gomez; sisters Susie Lujan and husband Carlos and Margaret Morrison and husband Dick, brother-in-law Dick Bills.

She is survived by her brother Epifanio "Eppie" Gomez and wife Patsy and sister Barbara Bills and sister-in-law Mary Lee Gomez and many nieces and nephews.

Candelaria graduated from Pojoaque High School in 1949.  She was employed by the University of California.  She lived at Santa Fe Care Center, and she enjoyed embroidering pillowcases and playing bingo. She was a remarkable person, and her family was always so proud of her.  Her nieces and nephews adored her.  Candie will sorely be missed by many.

A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at 5:30 p.m. with a Rosary to follow at 6:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nambe, NM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nambe, NM with Interment to follow at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Nambe, NM.
