Brenda Ortiz, age 60, of Dixon, New Mexico, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. A devoted mother, cherished grandmother, beloved sister, caring aunt, and loyal friend, Brenda leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering compassion.

Brenda dedicated much of her life to serving others through her work in the health care field. Her deep empathy and tireless commitment to the well-being of those in her care made a lasting impact on countless lives. Whether she was comforting a patient, offering a warm smile to a stranger, or lending a helping hand to a neighbor, Brenda brought light to every room she entered.

She was known throughout her community for her generosity, her loving spirit, and the way she made everyone feel seen and valued. Family was at the heart of everything Brenda did. She found immense joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren, always putting others before herself and sharing her love unconditionally.

Brenda’s presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents Benjamin Ortiz (Minnie Ortiz) and brothers Wilfred and Victor Ortiz.

She is survived by her daughters Desiray Quintana and Melonie Ortiz; 5 grandchildren who she helped raise, Aaliah Gutierrez, Destiny Ortiz, Kimberly Ortiz, Hazel Pena and Austin Pena; sisters Edna Gallegos and Catherine Chacon; brothers Clyde Maes (Amy) and Ben Ortiz; niece Charlotte Gallegos who she spent a lot of time with; many other nieces, nephews, and cousins who she was very close to.

A Memorial Service to honor Brenda’s life will be announced by her family. In the meantime, those who knew and loved her are invited to share memories and celebrate the incredible woman she was.

Serving as Paul barriers are Leonard Gallegos, Jeremy Ortiz, Emmanuel Tapia, Shane Martinez and Isiah Martinez.

The family of Brenda Ortiz has entrusted the care of their love one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the beautiful Espanola Valley.
