Brenda Cordova

Brenda K. Cordova, Age 52, a resident of Chamisal, New Mexico passed away unexpectedly Saturday, October 26, 2019. She was proceeded in death by her beloved husband Juan Cordova; sisters, Joann and Kimberly Rodarte; grandparents, Josefita Trujillo, Raquel Rodarte, Rebecca and Celestino Pena. Brenda loved to cook, she was the best cook for family gatherings and was always willing to help when it came to cooking for celebrations. She also loved her dog Honey who kept her company. Her cooking and presence will truly be missed.   She is Survived by her daughter Joann (Abel Visarraga); granddaughter, Celeste Presciliana Visarraga of Chamisal, parents; Rudy “Pepe” and Nestora Rodarte of Llano de San Juan, Bennie Fernandez of Truchas, who was like a second mother to Brenda, Tranquilino Cordova of Chamisal; father-in-law; brother, Steven Rodarte (Loretta), sister Vickey Valdez (Derrick); nieces and nephews; Lesea, Stephanie (Jesus), Amanda (Chance), Octaviano, Navi, Ethan, Stephanie Kyle (Mike), Kathleen, Matthew, and Allison, great niece and nephew Aaliyah and Gabriel that she called her “toys”; Godparents; Flavio and Priscilla Trujillo; other relatives, uncle Frutoso (Fritz), Randy (Danielle) Cordova, Philip (Shirley) Cordova; close friend Michelle Cordova and many more relatives and friends. Serving the family as pallbearers are Steve Rodarte, Vickey Valdez, Frutoso Pena, Randy Cordova, Lesea Rodarte, and Stephanie Rodarte. A rosary will be recited on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Penasco, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. and a burial to follow at the Los Llanitos Cemetery in La Madera.
