Brandon Christopher John Trujillo, 26, of Chimayó, New Mexico, made his way to Heaven on August 22, 2026. He was born on March 7, 2000.

Brandon was a true outdoorsman whose heart belonged to the mountains. He found peace and purpose in the outdoors and had a deep appreciation for the beauty of the land he loved. A patient hunter with an unwavering passion for the sport, hunting became a part of who Brandon was at a very young age. What began as a love for the outdoors grew into a lifelong passion and eventually led him to become an expert hunting guide.

Brandon lived for every moment of hunting season. He loved the preparation, the long days in the mountains, the patience required, the memories made along the way, and most of all he anxiously waited for the day draw results were posted. He had a natural ability to share his knowledge and love of the outdoors with others, making every hunt an experience to remember. For Brandon, hunting was never simply about the hunt—it was about the mountains, the challenge, the quiet moments, and the people he shared those moments with.

Brandon also had a way of building meaningful friendships wherever life took him. His neighbors knew him as someone they could count on, and the friendships he formed in his community were built on trust, kindness, and genuine respect. At Los Alamos National Laboratory, Brandon earned the respect of his peers through his character, work ethic, willingness to help others, and the way he treated everyone around him. He was not only a coworker, but a friend to many. Those who worked alongside him will remember his dedication, his quiet confidence, his willingness to lend a hand, and the camaraderie he shared with those around him. The respect he earned was a reflection of the person he was and the lasting impression he made on the people fortunate enough to know him.

Brandon was also known for his fun-loving spirit and his ability to bring life to any gathering. He was often the life of the party, always ready with a smile, a good story, a little nonsense, and a whole lot of dancing. He could turn an ordinary get-together into a night filled with laughter, jokes, and unforgettable memories. Whether he was talking nonsense just to make everyone laugh or dancing like nobody was watching, Brandon had a way of making sure everyone around him was having a good time. His laughter, humor, and larger-than-life personality could light up any room, and the memories made with Brandon were rarely quiet or ordinary.

Above all, Brandon cherished his family. He was a loving uncle and proud godfather who held a special place in the hearts of Noah, Tyler, and Kaleb. He treasured the time he spent with them and took pride in being someone they could look up to, laugh with, and make memories with. His love for his nephews and godson was genuine and unconditional, and the memories they shared with him will be treasured forever.

Those who knew Brandon will remember his adventurous spirit, his patience, his determination, and the genuine joy he found in the outdoors. The mountains were where he felt most at home, and his love for them will forever be a part of the legacy he leaves behind.

Though his time with us was far too short, Brandon made an impact that will not be forgotten. His memory will live on in the stories told around campfires, in the trails he walked, in the mountains he loved, and in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Brandon may have taken his final journey to Heaven, but the memories he created and the love he shared will remain with his family, friends, and all who knew him. May he rest peacefully among the mountains he loved so dearly, until we meet again.

Brandon was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Leo Trujillo and maternal grandfather Johnny O. Atencio. Close cousin Jeremy Trujillo.

Brandon is survived by father Chris Trujillo (Elaine), mother Yolanda Trujillo, sisters Karissa Trujillo (Vince), Selina Trujillo, nephews Noah John Ortiz, Tyler Trujillo (Godson), Kaleb Trujillo, paternal grandmother Susie Trujillo (Ernest), maternal grandmother Helen Atencio, aunts and uncles – Jerry & Della Trujillo, Nina Bernadette Vigil & Jody Armijo, Jonathan & Carrie Atencio, Yvonne Gonzales, Joseph Gonzales and many close cousins, friends, neighbors, and coworkers.

A Rosary will be prayed at 9:00 am at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo, NM, on Monday, August 31, 2026, Mass will follow at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at the Nuestra Senora de Carmel Cemetery in Chimayo, NM. 

Assisting the family as Pallbearers will be: Michael Martinez, Vince Martinez, David Martinez, Vincent Trujillo, Ronald Martinez, Jerome Deaguero, Tristan Trujillo, and Jesse Gasca.

Honorary Pallbearers: Godson Tyler Trujillo, Kaleb Trujillo, and Noah Ortiz and his loyal pack of hound dogs.
