Obituary

Betty Anzaldua, 86, a resident of El Guache, NM,  passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2026. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ruben C. Anzaldua; grandson, Patrick James Anzaldua; parents Leandro and Octaviana Gallegos; in-laws, Jose C. and Aurora Anzaldua; brothers Robert and Odon Gallegos; sisters, Josephine Aguino, Ida Spagnola, Henrietta Alarid, and Alice Staley. 

Mrs. Anzaldua is survived by her children, Patrick Anzaldua and wife Edna of Hernandez, Ronald Anzaldua of Arizona, Becky Serrano and husband Lonnie of El Guache; grandchildren, Nicholas William Anzaldua of Albuquerque, Amberleigh Grider, of California, Jaime Williams of Albuquerque; great-grandchildren, Natayo, Isaiah, Julya, Nicholas, DJ, Ky, Marley, Owen, Olivia, Dylan, Andrew and Phoenix; sisters Regina Archuleta of Albuquerque and Rosella Martinez of Picuris and many nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.

Rosary will be recited at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Espanola, NM, on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 9:00 am. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated immediately following the Rosary at 10:00 am. Burial to follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Espanola. 

Serving as Pallbearers, Nicholas W. Anzaldua, Isaiah Anzaldua-LeRouge, Jeff Aguino, David Aguino, Jeremiah Martinez and Adam Gallegos. 

Honorary Pallbearers named Natayo Anzaldua, Nicky Anzaldua, Donna Abeyta, Gloria Padilla, Tammy Spagnola, Chris Spagnola, and Julian Martinez.

A special thank you to Dr. Hayes for the many years of wonderful loving care and to the Hospice Nurses, Yvette and Jaime, for your gentleness, kindness, understanding and support.
