BERONIZE GARCIA, 96, a resident of Medanales, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2011 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 77 years, Pedro Garcia; parents, Emilio and Delfinia Gonzales; 3 brothers; 1 sister; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Grandma Nize loved working in her ranch where she grew all her vegetables for over 60 years. She loved to take care of all her beautiful flowers. She enjoyed spending time with all her family and enjoyed being with her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister and will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her. Mrs. Garcia is survived by her 11 children, Amado Garcia and wife Luisa, Delfin Garcia and wife Virginia, Rudy Garcia and wife Emily, Abelino Garcia and wife Pablita, Maria Salazar and husband Willie, Teresa Trujillo and husband Armando, Emilio Garcia and wife Martha, Eufelia Garcia and husband Pedro, Audoro Garcia and wife Frances, Roy Garcia and wife Geraldine and Johnny “Red” Garcia and wife Lucy; brother, Samuel Gonzales; sisters, Ramona Vigil, Dolores Martinez and Pablita Borrego; 33 grandchildren; 76 great-grandchildren; 62 great-great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the San Antonio Catholic Church in Medanales. Burial to follow at the San Antonio Catholic Cemetery in Medanales with the following serving as pallbearers, Melissa, Leslie, and Cindy Garcia, Sandra Maestas, Merna Romero and Susan Martinez, Raymond Garcia and Oliver Trujillo. Honorary pallbearers will be the rest of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
