Bernie T Manzanares

Bernie T. Manzanares 46, a resident of El Rito went to be with our Lord from a horrific car accident on Saturday, February 23, 2019 on his way home from work.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Gavino and Maria Manzanares; his Godparents, Benceslado and Claudina Martinez (aunt and uncle); brother, Antonio Manzanares; Uncle who was like a father figure, Ardoro Campos; brother-in-law, Silviano Martinez; And the love of his life, his wife Mary who passed away in May 2018 after a battle with cancer. Mr. Manzanares is survived by his sister, Vicky Martinez, his brothers, Leonard, Herman and wife Rita Manzanares, Sammy Sisneros also who he loved as brothers Johnny Ortiz, Ralph Martinez and wife Phyllis; nephews and nieces, Silviano Martinez Jr., Timoteo Martinez and wife Norma, Angelica and husband Cornelio Lopez and Mallory Manzanares, great nephews and nieces, Savannah, Silviano III, Diego, and LexiAnna  Martínez, Jordan Romero, Leandro and Aubrey Lopez,  Mallory Manzanares, Jesus, Neyoni and unborn baby girl; his Padrino of confirmation cousin, Clyde Martinez;  very close cousin Elaine and husband Leroy Pacheco and many more relatives and friends. Bernie will be missed by all who knew and loved him. A rosary will be recited on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. A second rosary will be recited on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at the San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Church in El Rito. Memorial mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 4, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. also at the San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Church, with a burial to follow at the Placitas Cemetery in El Rito. The family of Bernie T. Manzanares has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home and Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
