Benjie S. - Age 37 - Chimayo Martinez

Benjie S. Martinez 37 - a resident of Chimayo, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday June 29, 2011 in Chimayo. Benjie was preceded in death by his parents, Sabino Martinez and Lorraine Martinez; Grandparents, Antonio and Gregoria Martinez and Sabino and Celestina Martinez, his brother, Tomas Moya. Benjie is survived by his children; Lorraine Martinez and Benjie Martinez Jr; Step-son Juanito Martinez; sister, Renee Martinez; Aunt’s (caregiver) Orlinda Martinez; and Lucresia Martinez both of Chimayo; Valentina Martinez, Marcella Martinez, and Rosina Martinez all of Albuquerque; Uncles, Gilberto Martinez and wife Olga of Chimayo; Esquipula Martinez and wife Eva of Albuquerque, close cousins raised like brothers, Jesse Martinez and wife Elena, Johnny Martinez and wife Andrea, and Tomas Ramirez, all of Chimayo; nieces, Destinee and Jenay Martinez both of Chimayo; and Angel Moya of Truchas, as well as numerous cousins and other loving relatives and friends. Public visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel at DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo with burial to follow at Nuestra Señora de Dolores Catholic Cemetery. Assisting the Martinez Family as Pallbearers are: Benjie Martinez Jr., Antonio Ramirez, Edward Martinez, Jared Martinez, Javon Martinez, Austin Dominguez, Ambros Dominguez, and Juanito Martinez. Honorary Pallbearers named are: Jesse Martinez, Johnny Martinez, Evan Martinez, Antoinette Ramirez and Tomas Ramirez. The family of Benjie S.
