Benina Trujillo

Benina Trujillo was born to eternal life on Saturday morning, January 15, 2022. Born on July 1, 1929, she was a mere 92 years old, and lived those 92 years to their fullest. She was born with a twin sister, who did not survive the early diseases of their times.

She was preceded in death by  her husband of 68 years, Cornelio Trujillo, her parents, Pedro and Petronila Vigil; infant daughter, Priscilla; son, Percy; Father and Mother in law Miguel and Eloisa Trujillo; Daughter-in-law; Rachael Trujillo; Siblings, Rebecca and husband Emiliano Vigil; Roberto and wife Pulita Vigil; Carmelita and husband Carpio Romero; Rosina and Blas Martinez; Susie and Ramon Herrera; Stella and Amos Roybal; Bertha Vigil; Floy Vigil; Emelinda Vigil; Elvira Vigil; In laws, Corina Trujillo, Juan Trujillo, Samuel Trujillo, Harry Drake, and Larry Lesperance.

Survivors include her daughter, Priscilla and husband Bert Cordova; Grandsons, Adan Cordova and companion Karyn; Miguel Cordova and wife Liz; Aaron Trujillo and wife Alix; Granddaughter, Rica Trujillo and companion. Great-grandsons, Adan (AJ) Cordova and his mother Joylyn; Santos Trujillo; Antonio Trujillo and great-granddaughters Kailani Cordova, and Estrella Trujillo; close family member, Clara Martinez; sisters; Floy Drake, Florence Lesperance, and brother Carlos Vigil and wife Lydia.  She is also survived by her sisters-in-law: Toni Trujillo and Clorita Trujillo.

She also was a caregiver to Kimberly Mukai from the time Kimberly was 3 months old until she was 12 years old. Her caregiver, Imelda Trujillo. She also had a special place in her heart for the many nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends who checked on her a daily basis. Even in death, she taught us a lesson on how to pass. She left us with a smile on her face, we can only imagine who was there to greet her and the majesty of her eternal home in heaven. We praise the Lord for the wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend that she was to us all. May she rest in peace, she will live on forever in our hearts.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Adan Cordova, Miguel Cordova, AJ Cordova, Aaron Trujillo, Erik Roybal and Freddie Trujillo.

A rosary will take place on Friday, February 11, 2022 at 9:00 am, with Mass to follow at 10:00 am at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo. Burial will take place after Mass at El Potrero Cemetery in Chimayo .
