Barbara Martinez AKA Law, Perragilo
Where do you start with pain like this?
Writing this hoping to reveal the brief life of this beautiful woman many knew throughout her life.
Barbara was my first born at an early age. We grew up together with Grandma/ Grandpa Robinson’s support.
I had a front row seat to this girl becoming an accomplished woman. Daughter to Brenda Law and Aaron Law, was a blended family. Four brothers: Jerry Plemons-4 children: Patrick Plemons- 4 children: Heath Law-1 child: Travis Law- 2 children; one sister, Crystal Law.
Barbara graduated from Pojoaque Valley High being a top star in track/field. There she met her future husband Ron Perragilo- dad to their 3 children, Dalas - 2 children; Bobbie - 3 children Kyana - 2 children.
Barb/Ron owned a successful business -Southwest Metal. They sponsored and coached their little league team.
Barb’s youngest brother, Travis and son, Dalas played on this team. Her brother, Patrick assisted. Being single several years later, Barb worked at Los Luceros- Alcalde. She became a self-taught computer wiz. Mastered the art of calligraphy, ceramics and hell of a fantastic cook, loved to dance the 2 step and rock/roll tattoos was a passion. She loved the tv clown Emmett Kelly. She was an avid Chicago Bears fan. She loved Christmas/4th of July her favorite time of year.
Her last job, Barb met Ray Martinez. This marriage came with 3 children. Ray Jr Martinez- 1 child Jeremy Matinez- 3 children Angel Martinez- 3 children
The Law family taught us the cowboy life. Riding horseback, gathering cattle branding/hauling Few years later Travis had her/Ray helping with rodeo’s in Abiquiu and his bucking bulls.
These 2 worked for local janitorial service with buildings in Los Alamos/ LANL, Espanola/ Arroyo Seco.
Without warning, demons attacked Barb’s self-esteem causing doubt, fear, depression. She became lost. But on her good days you’d see that beautiful bright smile, hear her heart felt laughter, wave or give you the peace sign wherever she saw you. She loved with all her heart, soul and being.
Barbara loved her Savior, all her family, friends, Spana/ USA and her 4-legged kids, Kevin/ Chica.
Those of Faith know our Savior sent Barb’s angel to wrap his mighty wings around her, cradling her as she took her last breath. In his soft, loving voice told her that her season and pain were over. It was time as a saved believer to come home. He rose with her spirit leaving the shell behind for her loved ones to briefly grieve. But to remember/celebrate this beautiful life of this amazing woman.
The family of Barbara Martinez has entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home Crematory of the Beautiful Espanola Valley 505-747-7477.
