Barbara Jean Duran

Barbara J Duran (Jean), 76, from Hernandez, NM, passed away on February 11, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. Jean was born on October 24, 1947, in Espanola NM.

Jean was preceded in death by her father Luis Padilla and mother Senobia Padilla. She is survived by her husband Frank Romero Duran, married for 60 beautiful years; sisters; Teresita Sanchez, Rosalie Crouch. brothers; Anthony Padilla (Louisa), Robert (Lisa), Johnny, Fabian (Charline), Arnold (Linda), sons; Les Duran (Tomasita); Kenny; Mark (Judith); Louie (Michelle); Louie Jr; Daughter Lynnae Duran. Grandsons; John, Aaron, Devin, Kendrick, Donovan. Granddaughters; Jessica, Dakotah, Shantay, Kiana, Emerald. Great grandchildren; Ariel, Cassy, Elijah, Avi and Luna.

Jean worked with Frank at Bloch’s Fine Furniture for over 30 years. She really enjoyed being with family and friends, playing cards, telling jokes and making everybody laugh. She enjoyed her later years playing bingo with her friends at the senior center. Jean was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and auntie. She impacted many people’s lives and will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

A public visitation will take on Monday February 19, 2024, at 6:00 pm and rosary to follow at 7:00 pm in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday February 20, 2022, at 2:00 pm at the San Jose Catholic Church in Hernandez NM with burial to follow at the San Jose Cemetery in Hernandez. 

Serving the family as pallbearers are John, Aaron, Devin, Donavan and Louie Duran, Ezekiah Ocaña; honorary pallbearers and special thanks to Annie Jaramillo and Brenda Sargent.
