Ayola Maria Ocana – March 24,1940 – July 27, 2025, 85 passed away peacefully on July 27,2025 surrounded by her loving family. Ayola was born in Vallecitos NM on March 24, 1940, to Leandro and Bersabe Gallegos.

Ayola was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She cherished the time she spent with her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. She loved making breakfast for her grandsons every morning before school.

Ayola worked many years as a cook for the Mesa Vista Schools and also worked as a caregiver for Addus.

Ayola is preceded in death by her husband Alberto, her parents Leandro and Bersabe Gallegos, her son Donald Duane Ocana, grandsons Freddie and Darrick Ocana, her sisters Deluvina Archuleta (Pedro), Olympia Vasquez (Amabilis), Magdalena Chavez (Pedro), Bertha Martinez (Ben), brothers Juan (Perfilia), Leandro (Asencion), and Lucas Gallegos, Sister-in-law Lucia Gallegos.

Ayola is survived by her children Freddie (Carol) Ocana, Crestina Ocana, Grandchildren Brandon (Rosemary) Ocana, Tomas Delgado (Faith Padilla), Jeanette Delgado (Diego Montes), great grandchildren, Ezekiah Ocana, Kaylee Ocana, Soliya Trujillo, Briela Montes, sisters, Anita Martinez, Fidelia Jaramillo, Elevinia(Alex)Salazar, brother Anselmo Gallegos. God children Edna and Joseph Vasquez, Elaine Archuleta, Paul Ocana and Manuelita Rodriguez, Brother-in-law Paul (Mabel)Ocana.

A Rosary will take place on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Church in El Rito at 9:00a.m. and Mass at 10:00a.m. Burial will follow at the El Rito Cemetery.
