Audelio E. Age - 79 Chimayo Romero

Audelio E. Romero, 79, a resident of Chimayo passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2011. Audelio was a wonderful father, grandfather and friend. He believed in the value of hard work, and spent his life working to build the best family he could. He shared his life and love with us each and every day. Audelio worked in the construction field and as a union representative for many years. Following his retirement, he continued to work, whether it be in his vegetable and flower garden, or in helping his children and grandchildren where ever he could. Every year since his retirement, he would take a temporary position during the legislature session. He enjoyed this job, since it gave him something to do during the winter, when he couldn’t work in his garden. Audelio enjoyed hunting and fishing and often just seeing nature. Mostly, he loved his family, whom he made a point to see every day he could. Audelio was preceded in death by his parents, Jacinto and Pablita Romero; wife, Isabel Romero; brothers: Arsenio, Uvaldo and Frank Romero; daughter, Brenda Lopez; son, Osben Romero. He is survived by his children: Rudy Romero and wife Dolores, Vicente Romero and wife Eufemia, Loretta Mendez and husband Villibaldo, Lupe Romero and wife Theresa; long time companion, Teodora Martinez; 11 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Marcelo Romero; sisters: Bernie Fernandez and Esnedina Trujillo; sisters-in-law: Rose and Theresa Romero. Public visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A wake service will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel at DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo with burial to follow at Nuestra Señora de Dolores Catholic Cemetery in Chimayo with the following serving as pallbearers: Lee Romero, Vicente L. Romero, Audelio Mendez, Aaron Romero, Matthew Romero and Ronald Rodella; honorary pallbearers: rest of his grandchildren & great-grandchildren. The family of Audelio E.
