Atocha Vigil

On Friday July 02, 2021 we lost our beloved Mother Atocha Ermelinda Vigil.  Atocha lived for 92 years and gave her family all the love, care, and support that was needed.  She loved making friends while working at the Canjilon Ranger Station. She was loved by anyone that met her. Atocha loved camping, fishing, dancing and having her family around. She lived her life to the fullest.  Atocha loved riding the ATV’s, going to her Cañon and never forgot “The Placita” where she was raised. She touched many lives and will truly be missed.

Atocha is with her beloved Mother now, Veronice Garcia, Father Ramon Martinez, husband Vidal Vigil, daughters Nancy, Virginia “Pinky”, sons Robert “Vidal” and Kenny.  She is survived by her children Rubina Vigil, Lawrence Vigil, Norman (Rosalie) Vigil, Brenda Vigil, Wayne (Berna) Vigil, Steven Vigil, Jacqueline (Phil) Martinez, Ted (Audrey) Lobato.  Grandchildren Karen Martinez, Chandel (Rosendo) Martinez, Laura (Ronnie) Lovato, Lorenzo (Maria) Vigil, Norman Jr. (Abby) Vigil, Thomas (Lisa) Vigil, Aquilino (Alisha) Valdez, Joshua (Jenae) Valdez, Darren Maestas, Tosha Martinez, Ross Martinez, Natalie Martinez, Stephanie Martinez, Christopher Lobato, Courtney (Ian) Tibbetts.  28 Great Grandchildren and 4 Great-Great Grandsons.

A rosary will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in Canjilon, NM with a Mass to be held at 11:00 a.m. and burial to follow at the Canjilon Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Lorenzo, Norman Jr, Thomas, Aquilino, Vidal, Darren, Ross, Christopher. Honorary Pallbearers are the rest of her grandchildren.
