It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved son, Artie David Vigil, 33 of La Mesilla, NM who left us on May 19, 2026. 

Artie was welcomed into Heaven by his sister, Nicole Vigil, Maternal Grandparents, Tomas and Vicentita Lujan, Paternal Grandfather, Andy Vigil, Uncles, David Lujan, Nelson and Robert (Bobo)Vigil, Juanito Manzanares and Cousin, John John Naranjo.

He is survived by his loving Parents, Artie and Barbara Vigil, his Sister, Shannon Vigil (Alyssa and Adrian Overson and their Dad, Amos Overson), Nephews, Shawn Trujillo (Lexi, Nicole and Gianna), Eric Trujillo (Selina and Amiyrah) and their Dad, Delbert Trujillo and Special Grandmother, Mela Vigil (Des). Aunts and Uncles include, Rosie Martinez (Armando, Gina, Ryan and Monica), Carolyn Valdez (Levi, Jerome and Jayla), Judith Trujillo (Duane, Nina, Kenneth, Venessa and Leon, AnnaMae Fresquez (Lawrence, Ryan and Isaac), Cecil Sandoval (Darren, Godsister, Amanda Archuleta, Ashley and Alisha).

Cousins are Breanna Lujan, Joseph and Brittney Vigil, Andres Vigil, and Juanito Manzanares, Jr., Godbrothers Matthew Vigil and Joshua Martinez, and Godsister, Esperanza Sanchez.

Pallbearers will be, Shawn Trujillo, Eric Trujillo, Alyssa Overson and Adrian Overson, whom he loved with all his heart.

Artie was the most kindhearted beautiful soul you would ever come across. He loved everyone and greeted everyone with tight hugs and kisses. His gentle spirit and beautiful smile will live in our hearts forever. He will be dearly missed by everyone who loved him. No more pain or hardship for him just happiness.

It’s not goodbye, Son, but we will see you when we get there. Love you always and forever! Mom and Dad

Services are as follows: Rosary will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church at 10:00 am on Monday, June 1st, 2026, with a Funeral Mass at 10:30 am. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
