Arthur Martinez

Arthur Martinez born September 18, 1957, in San Fernando, CA, passed from a lifelong illness on July 8, 2025, in the family home. 

He is preceded in death by his parents Mariano & Socorro (Fernandez) Martinez; brothers Polo, Sylvino & Mario; and compadre Jamie Comaduran. 

Survived by daughter Lauren (Max) and grandson Miles; son Joseph (Toby) and grandchildren Mia, Charlie, Joseph Jr. and baby due in October. Also survived by brothers John Beatty (Angie), Paul (Martha) TN and Joe; sisters Stella (Lino Baiza), Anita, Alice (Paul Carrasco), Cecilia and Adrian all from California, and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. 

Art graduated from San Fernando High in 1975. He worked for General Motors in Van Nuys until 1991. The following year he moved to Nambe Pueblo with his young family. He worked at the pueblo and then for 7UP in Santa Fe. Art loved sports and attended many games at Dodger Stadium, Lakers and LA Raider games, and he played on different sports teams. He was also an active member of the Pojoaque Valley coaching Pop Warner, Youth basketball, Little League and Girls Softball. When he wasn’t watching sports, he was usually reading. Art was a former parishioner at Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe in Pojoaque and most recently a parishioner at Santa Rosa Catholic Church in San Fernando. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus. 

We thank our family and friends who have prayed for Art’s health throughout the years. Services will be held in Mission Hills, CA.
