Our beloved Antonio Joey Trujillo, 34, a resident of Cordova passed away unexpectedly in a motor vehicle accident on Friday, October 8, 2021. Antonio was a soul none of us will ever forget. He had a smile that was contagious, a generous spirit and a heart made of gold. No matter the circumstance, he was always willing to lend a helping hand. He loved his family unconditionally- just as we loved him. Antonio enjoyed cooking, going to the mountains, spending time at the casino, and one of his favorite things may have been talking and making friends with everyone he encountered. His life was cut short but his memory will live on in the hearts of many. Antonio is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Tammy Trujillo, paternal grandfather Levi Trujillo, paternal uncles James Trujillo and Nelson Montoya, paternal cousins Joey Trujillo and Jaime Trujillo, special paternal great aunt Lucita Romero and maternal great grandmother Auerlia Maestas. Antonio is survived by his paternal grandmother who raised him, Gregoria Trujillo, fiancé Renee Martinez, daughters Kyleigh Trujillo and Cassandra Martinez, special cousin who he considered his sister, Lucrecia Tainter (Bobby), paternal aunts, Nina Torres (Lawrence), Sarah Chavez (Alfred) whom he loved and considered as parents and Evelyn Martinez (Dennis), paternal uncle Frutoso Trujillo (Charlene), close cousins Sheila Vigil (Tomas), Crystal Martinez and Savannah Ulibarri, Erika Martinez (Angelo), and Meghan Martinez, nephew Jayden Tainter, maternal grandfather David Maestas, maternal grandmother Pauline Martinez, maternal aunts and uncles, Virgina Ulibarri (Dan), Andy Romero (Tina), Ricky Romero, Yolanda Romero, David Maestas Jr, Sean Maestas, Alisha Maestas and special childhood friend, Charlie Trujillo. Serving as pallbearers will be Sheila Vigil, Florence Sanchez, Valerie Gonzales, Crystal Martinez, Erika Martinez, Meghan Martinez and Lucrecia Tainter. Honorary pallbearers are Alfred Trujillo, Donny Trujillo, Jody Trujillo, Abel Trujillo, James Vigil, Joey Trujillo, Dante Trujillo as well as numerous other relatives and friends

Rosary will take place on Friday, October 15, 2021 at 7:00 pm at the DeVargas Funeral Home in Espanola. Mass will be held Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Holy Family Catholic Church at 10:00 am with burial to follow at the Cordova Cemetery.
