Antonia (Tonita) Rodriguez-Meraz passed away in her home in Espanola, NM, on May 15, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. Antonia was born June 13, 1942, in Rancho de Gonzales, Chihuahua, to her parents Rodolfo Rodriguez and Trinidad Meraz.

She was Preceded in death by her siblings Raul Rodriguez-Meraz, Guadalupe Rodriguez-Meraz and parents Rodolfo Rodriguez and Trinidad Meraz.

Antonia always started her day off with her cafecito and morning mass. Antonia loved to watch Turkish novelas and always had a rosary in hand. Antonia was very strong on her faith, and taught her grandchildren to pray since they were young. She enjoyed going to mass on Sundays with her daughter and grandchildren and going to eat Chinese food after. Antonia lived with her daughter Leticia and helped raise both of her grandchildren Adrian and Brenda whom love her dearly.

Antonia is survived by her only daughter Leticia Gutierrez and two grandchildren; Brenda Jurado and Adrian Fuentes. She is also survived by her five siblings; Julieta Rodriguez from Roswell, NM, Maria de Jesus Rodriguez, Moncerrate Rodriguez, Leopoldo Rodriguez, and Ruben Rodriguez all from Cuauhtemoc, Chihuahua.

Antonia’s Mass will be held at Holy Family Parish in Chimayo, NM, on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 2:00 pm. Her novenario will be held at her daughter’s house the following day, Sunday, May 31, 2026, at 7:00 pm.
