Anthony James Vigil

Anthony James Vigil, a resident of Chimayo passed away unexpectedly on March 2, 2023, at the age of 33. Anthony was a kind, quiet and lovely soul who was loved by everyone and he loved everyone in his own special way. Anthony loved spending time with his family most of all his children, playing video games and having music rap battles with his son Damien, and with his daughter Anjelika he loved playing golf and making bracelets. His children where the pride and joy of his life.  Anthony loved music, walking around the yard with his headphones on listening to his favorite rapper Eminem or watching the sports channel cheering on his two favorite teams the Celtics or Colts.  He was his mama’s right hand always helping her with everything she needed, no matter what the task was.  Anthony was a great father, son, brother, nephew and grandson who will be dearly missed by his family.

Anthony is preceded in death by his Maternal grandmother Rosalie Maria Baca, cousin Anjelika Maria Baca, paternal grandparents; Felix & Trinnie Vigil; great-grandparents Claudio and Leonardita Baca, Jacob & Celina Mascarenas, Marcello & Fedeline Romero, Uncles; Levi Baca and Leroy Vigil.

Anthony is survived by children Damien and Anjelika; his mother Joanna (Gary); sister Alexandra; father James Vigil; grandfather Joe Baca; mother of his children Francisca Lovato; uncles and aunts Rubel (Carla) Baca, Damian Vigil, Annette (Pedro) Solis, Lucille (Mike) Garcia, Joane (Leroy) Sandoval and Terry (Carlos) Chacon; cousins Louie (Jessica & kids), Ryan (Marisa), Angelo (Kassandra & Kids), Lynnette (Chris), Amanda, Claudia, Rebecca (Jesse) Gabriel, Brittani (Irene) and Leandro.

A public visitation will take place on Friday March 17, 2023, at 5:00 pm, in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home with a Rosary to follow at 6:00 pm. A mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo with a burial to follow at Nuestra Senora de Dolores Cemetery in Chimayo with the following servicing as pallbearers: Louie, Ryan, Angelo & Glen Baca, Gabriel Garcia, Luis Reyes.
