Anthony (Antz) Daniel Garcia Jr., 38, born November 17, 1984. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, and cousin. Anthony was born in Farmington, NM and raised in Las Vegas, NV and had recently moved to Placitas, NM to be close to family.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandfather Ernest Martinez of Llano, NM; paternal grandparents Marcella Monroe of Albuquerque, NM and Fred Garcia of Costilla, NM; cousins Christian Gurulé of Rio Lucio, NM; Katie Martinez of Albuquerque, NM, and Gabriel Garcia of Albuquerque, NM.

He is survived by his parents Tony and EmmyLou Garcia (Placitas, NM), and brother Brandon Garcia (Charlotte, NC), his grandmother Ruth Martinez (Llano, NM), uncles and aunts Jerry & LuAnne Tafoya of Santa Fe, NM; Clyde & Darlene Gurulé of Rio Lucio, NM; Clarence & Marilyn Aragon of Mora, NM; Deacon Dan & JulieAnne Sanchez of Placitas, NM; Ernest & Dr. Melina Martinez of Santa Fe, NM; Melvin & Deborah Martinez of Albuquerque, NM; Fred (Gino) Garcia of Albuquerque, NM; Jeff Garcia of Albuquerque, NM; Dr. Leonard & Christine Thomas of Albuquerque, NM; Robert Schmidt-Garcia of Albuquerque, NM, and numerous s cousins and friends – All who were very special to him.

A llegada will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church in Peñasco, NM with the first rosary to be recited at 3:00 p.m., with second rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 18, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church, burial at the Trujillo Cemetery in Llano de San Juan.  Immediately following the burial, everyone is invited to a Celebration of Life reception at the Peñasco Community Center, 14136 NM-75, Peñasco, NM. 

Serving the family as Pallbearers are Brandon Garcia, Jerry Tafoya, Ernest Martinez, Fred (Gino) Garcia, Jared Tafoya, and Kendrick Sanchez.
