Angela Duran

d. December 21, 2021

We are greatly saddened at the loss of our dear Angela Duran. Our loss is heavens’ gain. Angela is now with her Savior and friend, Jesus.

Angela was to go-to-person for her family and many friends. If you needed someone to talk to, if you needed encouragement or just a friend, Angela was always there for you and her word of wisdom was always, “Trust the Lord, He is with you”, which she did, till the end.

Angela was ushered into the Presence of her Savior with her husband, son, and sister by her side with prayer, worship, and thankfulness for having had her as part of our lived. Her last breath on earth was her first breath in the Presence of her Lord.

Angela was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt to many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

Angela was born on October 22, 1955. She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Phillip Duran, her son Phillip Duran Jr. and daughter-in-law, Crystal, her grandson Nathaniel and his wife, Lacey, and great-grandchildren Londyn, and Remington, her grandsons Isaac and Jesse and granddaughter, Felicia. She is also survived by her father-in-law Eddie Duran, her stepmother, Laura Martinez, sister Bernadette Martinez, brother Andrew Martinez, and sister-in-law, Onnie, brother Danny Martinez and sister-in-law Kathy, sister Annette Perez and sister Elaine Esquibel and brother-in-law Danny and sisters-in-law Cathy Garcia (Sam), Patti Muxlow (Ralph), Diana Duran (Joe Lujan), Loretta Apel (Dave) and Nanette Vela. Angela was loved by her many nieces and nephews.

Angela was preceded in death by her father, Cipriano Martinez, her mother Amelia Martinez Quintana, stepfather Eddie Quintana, mother-in-law Beatrice Duran, her precious sister Debby Dominguez, brother-in-law Michael Perez, nephew Daniel Esquibel, grandparents Jose and Anna Martinez and Tom and Esther Medrano. She has now joined the great crowd of witnesses who love her and who we love.

Angela worked at the Los Alamos National Labs where she had many friends who loved her and who will miss her. Her passion was her family and bringing the family together for celebrations with great food and fellowship. She loved her dogs and they loved her including neighbor dogs who would come to see Angela and get their favorite treats!

Even though our hearts are broken because we have lost Angela, we rejoice that this Woman of God is with her Savior and that this is not the end, we will see her again. Angela is not in our past, she is in our future.
