Alice Madrid

ALICE HELEN MADRID, 76, a resident of Gallina, closed her eyes here on earth and opened them in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, January 13, 2020. She was a woman of amazing faith with a servant’s heart. She was a relentless prayer warrior and a friend to everyone who knew her. Alice always thought more of others than herself and was a perfect example of unselfish love in caring for her family and her husband of 54 years. Grandma Alice was so very proud of her grandchildren and prayed for them daily. The desire of her heart was for her family to follow Jesus as she did. She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Emiliana Chavez and sister, Bernice Gomez. Alice is survived by her husband, Orlando Madrid of Gallina; children, Steve Madrid and wife Michelle of Colorado Springs, CO, Orlando Mark Madrid of Rio Rancho, James Madrid and wife Stephanie of Albuquerque and Matilda Montoya and husband Adam of Chimayo; grandchildren, Danielle Gonzales and husband Jorge of Covington, Georgia, Zachary Madrid and wife Tricia of Los Lunas, Savannah, Madison and Adan Montoya of Chimayo, Sydney and Reegan Madrid of Albuquerque; great-grandchildren, Kingston, Teddy, Emiliana, Wyatt Madrid of Los Lunas; siblings, Martha Cordova of Gallina (sister and best friend), Thelma Serrano of Gallina, David Chavez of Santa Theresa, Sam Chavez of Gallina, Archie Chavez of Las Cruces, Dennis Chavez of Albuquerque, Ronald Chavez of Gallina, Melanie Chavez of Albuquerque and numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Friday, January 17, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. at El Buen Pastor Church with a devotional service to follow at 6:30 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Christian Faith Fellowship Church in Gallina. Burial to follow at the Madrid Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Adan Montoya, Sam Chavez, Dennis Chavez, Zachery Madrid, Patrick Gomez, Raymond Cordova, Ray (Sonny) Cordova and Toby Jacquez. The family of Alice Helen Madrid has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
