Alex Ivan Salazar, 65, of Española, New Mexico, passed away on March 27, 2024. Born on July 23, 1958, in Oak Harbor, Washington to Dolores Montoya and Alex Salazar, and raised with the loving guidance of his stepfather, Lee Esquibel, he lived a life marked by dedication, integrity, and the pursuit of knowledge.
Alex was a respected financial auditor and an esteemed member of the academic community, nearing the completion of his RTC certification at Los Alamos National Labs.
An alumnus of New Mexico State University, The College of Santa Fe, and The University of Phoenix, Alex held two Bachelor's degrees and a Master's degree, reflecting his lifelong commitment to education and excellence. Beyond his professional achievements, Alex was known for his passions outside the office. He was an avid fisherman, an enthusiastic dancer, and enjoyed cycling and road trips with his beloved girlfriend, Irma.
Alex was a devoted member of the Caballeros de Vargas and La Eternidad Fraternidad Piadosa de Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno, through which he served his community and upheld his faith. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and a quirky, witty sense of humor that brought joy to all who knew him.
Alex is survived by his loving mother Dolores, his siblings, and a community of friends and colleagues who will miss him dearly.
A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at 10:00 AM, followed by a Mass at 11:00 am at Santa Cruz de la Cañada in Santa Cruz, NM.
Alex's life was a testament to the power of dedication, love, and laughter. He will be deeply missed.
