Albert Naranjo, 88, a lifelong resident of Santa Clara Pueblo passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2011. He worked for the Los Alamos National Labs for 35 years and was a WWII Veteran. Mr. Naranjo was a former Lt. Governor, Tribal Interpretor and Councilmen for the Santa Clara Pueblo. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ursulita V. Naranjo; daughter, Theresa Naranjo; parents, Desiderio and Rebecca A. Naranjo; sisters: Tonita Daly, Josefita Ethelbah, Orlinda Abeyta, Lorencita Vermillion and Frances Naranjo. Mr Naranjo is survived by wife, Carol Naranjo; his sons: Raymond Naranjo and wife Kathy, Lawrence; daughter, Bernice Naranjo; sister, Mary Kettle; numerous nephews, nieces, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, god children and step-children. Public visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel at DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 14, 2011 at 7:00 a.m. at Santa Clara Pueblo Catholic Church with interment to take place at 9:45 a.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery. The following will be serving as pallbearers: Lucas, Gabriel, Jonathan and Jerome Naranjo, Jerry Vermillion and Sheldon Ney; honorary pallbearers: Robert Rifle, Robert Abeyta, Upton Ethelbah and James Naranjo.
