Agatha Trujillo

Agueda I. Trujillo, (Aggie), age 91, beloved wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother and lifelong Espanola resident, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, December 26th, 2023. She spent her last Christmas surrounded by her family. She is now reunited with her forever love and traveling partner, Anselmo and their grandson Marcos. 

Aggie epitomized strength and drive, everything she did she did to the fullest. She always went to no end to protect and care for the ones she loved. She was a dedicated homemaker, a businesswoman, a music and arts enthusiast, and an Espanola history book. She was proud to be from the beautiful Espanola Valley and spent many years researching genealogy and her family’s roots. She had a passion for making sure you knew where you came from, always sharing history, traditions, and days of old. In every conceivable manner, she believed a people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots.

They leave five children: Lorenzo Trujillo (Margaret), Leonardo Trujillo (Elizabeth), Luis Trujillo, Loreta Martinez (Tony), and Chana Romero (Albert); seven grandchildren: Anna (David), Chris, Diego (Lauren), Michael, Antonio, and Matthew; seven great-grandchildren: Bryanna, Brooke, Brandyn, Sage, Jayden, Orion and Avyn.

A public visitation will be held on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at 4:00 pm, followed by a rosary at 5:00 pm in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home, Espanola, NM.

A mass of Christian burial will take place on Monday, January 8, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Espanola with a burial to follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
