Adrian Ortiz

d. June 8, 2024

Nambe

Adrian Ortiz, son of Lino and Miranda Ortiz of Nambe,’ NM, entered the gates of Heaven of June 8, 2024. He would have celebrated his 61st birthday on June 27, 2024. He was preceded in death by his father Lino B. Ortiz.

He is also preceded in death by his grandparents Amadeo and Victoriana Ortiz and Eloy and Vicenta Lujan, all from Nambe.

He is survived by his mother Miranda Ortiz. He is also survived by his Goddaughters Miquelle Angel Sanchez and LeeAnn Walsh-Jack; by his brothers Sam Ortiz and wife Pam, Lino Ortiz and wife Connie; sisters Louana Romero and husband Greg, Audrey Ortiz (Keith), and Sarah Sandoval and husband Ray. Also surviving him are many nieces and nephews who thought of him as their grandfather.

Adrian was not just from Nambe’, he was Nambe’. His spirit touched so many lives in and out of our neighborhood. He didn’t have one best friend, he had many best friends. Many of them lovingly and fondly greeted him by his very special nicknames "Marsh-Man" or "Belushi".

He worked at the Pojoaque Supermarket for many years and made many friends. So many relatives, friends, doctors, nurses and support staff, caregivers, and teachers will miss his smiling face and vibrant personality. He loved people and people loved him.

Listening to Karizzma (his brother’s music), fishing, camping, dancing, his Broncos, and yes, even beer were his joy. He loved to paint, mostly churches, crosses, deer/elk, and for those of you who were recipients of his gifts and artwork, know that he made them with sincere fondness. Most of all, he loved praying the daily Divine Mercy Chaplet with his “Mama.” A devout Catholic, he prayed and proudly wore his Rosary and Scapular faithfully.

He was a man of courage and strength. His strength was our strength. As his health declined, he would often say, “I’m alright, or I’m fine, why?, turn off the lights off”. He no longer suffers from his pains. He rests in the loving arms of his father, next to Jesus, and with all our loved ones who have gone before him. From a family of eight, we look forward to one day being together in Heaven. Rest in peace our Dear Love, Adrian.

A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nambe, NM, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial to follow at the Nambe Catholic Cemetery in Nambe, NM.
