ADRIAN P. ESCOBEDO
Adrian Escobedo (Dre) gained his angel wings and joined Gods Heavenly Kingdom on March 4, 2026 after a short illness. It is with heavy hearts that we have lost a beloved husband, father, son, brother, nephew, son-in-law and soon to be grandfather whom we dearly loved and will greatly miss his warm smile, contagious laugh and witty sense of humor. Adrian was born on March 9, 1974 in Denver, Colorado and moved to New Mexico at the young age of fifteen where he attended the Pojoaque Valley Schools. It was at this stage of his life that he met the love of his life Norma. After finishing high school, they got married and had two beautiful Sons Devon and Jaden. He worked for many years at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in the Health and Safety field. Dre was an excellent athlete in all sports but had an extreme passion for softball and played up until the last years of his life. He passed this talent on to his boys who continue to excel with softball (Devon) as well as Jiujitsu (Jaden).
Adrian was a great family man he loved his family dearly and was very proud of his loving wife who was always by his side even up until his untimely death as well as his boys whom he cherished with love and admiration. He was also very close to his immediate family, including father-in-law Leroy as they would have ongoing lengthy conversations about the Denver Nuggets and Broncos as he kept up with all their games and stats. He had a very close relationship with his God Parents Kathy and Anthony Gonzales and made every effort to visit to ensure their wellbeing. Adrian has also had a very special relationship with his cousins Angel, Anna and Antonio who considered him his brother. This was just who Adrian was as he adored all his family including all his uncles, aunts and cousins from Denver as well as New Mexico.
Adrian also had numerous friends that he made while living in the valley and while working at the Lab. We were always amazed at how he could remember people’s names as he would often say you remember so and so and we would be like who and he would say come on you remember he is related to someone or another. As mentioned above he had an extended family of his softball teammates and always stayed in touch even in the off season and he will clearly be missed whether he was playing or watching his boys play.
Adrian is also preceded in death by his Father Donald Romero, Grandma Joan Escobedo Mother-in-Law Rita Jo Romero, Uncle Pete Escobedo, Aunt Terri Alverez , Aunt Denise Martinez and Aunt Dorothy Madrid, Niece Vanna Ortega and Cousin Joseph Garcia as well as numerous other relatives.
Adrian is survived by his loving Wife Norma Escobedo, Sons Devon (Arianna) and soon to be granddaughter, Jaden (Jayme), Mother Christine (Philbert) Romero, Sister Amanda Escobedo (Frank), Father-in-law Leroy Romero and Sister-in law Debbie (Bryant) Roybal . Nieces Shayna (Brian) and Aliyah Roybal. Nephew Tristan Roybal, and Great Nephew Amari Benjamin. He is also survived by Grandma Lorraine Lopez, Aunt Angela (Bill) Wilhelm, Uncle Mike (Paula) Escobedo , Aunt Donna and Uncle John Garcia, Uncle Delfino Romero and his God Parents Kathy and Anthony Gonzales as well as numerous cousins that that he had special bonds with.
The family would like to thank all the family and friends that were there to support the family during this difficult time, especially his cousin Angel (Ray Lopez) and God-Sister Anna Gonzales. The visits, prayers, and phone calls are a true testament on how well Adrian was loved and will be dearly missed, thank all of you and May God Bless.
Services are currently pending and will be scheduled after the Lenten Season with a planned Catholic Rosary and Mass at the Pojoaque Valley Church.
The family of Adrian Escobedo has entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the beautiful Espanola Valley 505-747-7477
