Adela Martinez, 92, a resident of Canjilon, NM, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 12, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Enrique and Gomicinda Baca; her husband Eraldo Martinez; her daughter, Elena Martinez; her sons, Nobert, Leonard, Matthew, and Felipe Martinez; her brothers, Filigonio Baca, Enrique Baca Jr., and Aquilino Baca; her sisters, Bernadita Gallegos and Salome Manzanares; her grandsons, Dennis Rey Romero and Kirby Martinez; and her sons-in-law, Richard Leyba and Dennis R. Romero.
Adela is survived by her children: Ramoncita Romero; Eligio Martinez, Eraldo Martinez Jr. and wife Bernice; Marie Barela and husband Tony, Diana Villalobos and husband Dario; Helen Martinez and husband Kenneth; Della Saiz and husband Al; and Juanita Salazar and husband Sabino. She is also survived by her daughters-in-law, Beatrice, Darlene, and Gloria; her sisters, Fabiola Sandoval and Sabinita Archuleta and husband Manuel; sister-in-law Edna Baca; 35 grandchildren, 76 great-grandchildren, 35 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous relatives and friends.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Father Ted and Deacon Joseph for the prayers and support as well as to Amber care staff Eloida, and Dr. Levi Maes for their compassionate care.
A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Church in Canjilon, NM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated immediately following the Rosary. Burial will follow at San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Cemetery in Canjilon, NM.
Pallbearers will be Darrell Martinez, Trent Martinez, Andres Salazar, Ramon Saiz, Karl Romero, and Damian Villalobos.
