Adela Garcia, 80, of Espanola, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026.

Adela was born August 11, 1945 in Sabinoso, NM and resided in Espanola for over 50 years. Adela had a passion for cooking. She leaves behind a legacy of love as a caring mom, proud grandma, beloved sister, and loyal friend to many.

She is preceded in death by her precious grandson Carlos Vigil, her parents Navor and Ramoncita Martinez, Sisters: Susana Gutierrez, Francis Cordova and brothers Bingo Martinez, Cruz Martinez, Jose Martinez, George Martinez, Mike Martinez, Alfonso Martinez, Simon Martinez and Navor Martinez.

Our mom will be remembered for her kindness, quick wit, unwavering generosity and her love for Jesus.

She is survived by her three children, Theresa Vigil, Juan Garcia (Suzzette) and Roberta Catanach (Jimmy) and grand-children: Monica Valerio, Michael Graham, Carlos Vigil, Robert Vigil, Alyssa Baca, Aileen Martinez, James Catanach and Adrianna Catanach, Chris, Miranda, Angelica, and Jazzmyn and many great grand-children: Aliciana, April, Randy, Marcus, Brook, Joziyah, Violet, Mikayla, Michael, Maliyah, Dante, Adrian, Jeremiah, Eva Grace, Jaiden, Kyanah, Ezeriah, Loveah, Allison, and 2 great-great grand-children Adrien and Alejandro, and her sister Lupita Jaramillo (Joe).

Her memorial service will be held on May 27, 2026 at Victory Faith Church, Espanola, NM. Public viewing will begin at 10:00 AM and services to follow immediately at 11:00 AM
