On Wednesday August 25, 2021 God called of his Angel Abel Duran to sit beside him in his Kingdom of Heaven to join his father and mother Melisendro H. and Eugenia and other siblings: Joseph F. Trujillo, Melisendro Jr., Gene and Paul Duran. Paternal Grandparents; Todocio and Lucia Duran, and Maternal Grandparents; Pedro and Maria Frutiosa Sanchez, Brother-in laws; Joe Dennis Mascarenas Sr., Milton Maestas, and nephew Joe Dennis Jr.
Abel was an innocent, fun, free spirited soul, that enjoyed simple things in life, bowling, casino, eating out and playing with his hot wheels. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved going out on his daily cruise into town and stopping at Sonic to grab his favorite soda.
He is survived by his remaining siblings Betty Espinoza (Manuel), Connie Montoya (Michael), Louanna Maestas, Joe Duran (Robin), Rosie Mascarenas, Patricio H. Duran (Mari), Pauline Rael (Rubel), Brenda Duran-Marquez (Rogelio) and many loving nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
A rosary will be recited at 10:00 am Thursday September 23, 2021 at Saint John the Baptist Church in Ohkay Owingeh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on September 23, 2021 also at Saint John the Baptist Church in Ohkay Owingeh. Serving the family as pallbearers are Louanna Maestas, Everette Espinoza, Miguel Duran, Joshua Trujillo, Aracely Marquez, Eric Carmona and Damian Mascarenas. Honorary Pallbearers are Angel Cordova, Goldyne Duran, Brian Espinoza, Nani Carmona, Emerald Marquez, Larissa Mascarenas, Conrado Espinoza, Diondra Salazar, Gabriel Renteria, Joe Martinez, Carlos Montoya and Jose Maestas.
The family of Abel Duran has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
