Wynona D. Holton

Wynona D. Holton, 68, a resident of the Española area, passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2017. Born on February 15, 1949 in Gainsville Texas. Wynona graduated in May of 1967 from Joshua High School. A decade later she moved to NM working for the Proforce in Los Alamos. In 1979 she became a mother for the first time to a precious little girl named Kelly Naranjo, two years later she became a mother once again to another precious little girl named Gillian Naranjo. As time passed through the years the little girls grew older and she then decided to venture out to find employment and pursue her Associates and Bachelor’s Degree. A Cumlude graduate from Northern New Mexico Collage and Santa Fe Collage. In addition to working, Wynona worked alongside with American Cancer Society, and Rely for Life.  She was also a member of the Cancer Council of New Mexico. She battled Breast Cancer three times in her long life. As a result, Wynona became a very strong willed person. She also was a grandma to five grandchildren. Her interests include camping, sewing, gardening, and traveling all around the world as well as traveling to every state in the USA. She also loved reading and learning about various subjects. She found happiness and love here in NM so therefor she never moved back to Texas. The family of Wynona D. Holton has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
