Felix is one of eleven siblings who grew up on the family ranch in El Rito and went to school in Questa. In 1952, he joined the service and received an early discharge due to illness. Felix started as an Electrical Apprentice in 1956 under Electrical Union Local 611 and later became a proud Journeyman. In 1967 Felix and his wife, Elsie moved to Chimayo and Felix realized his dream of having his own ranch with horses and livestock. In his younger years Felix had a passion for the outdoors and spent a lot of time camping, fishing and hunting with his family. Felix was a very hard worker and by example and success, showed his children the value and rewards of hard work. He also taught his children the skills needed to be successful in work and life.
After Felix retired, he and Elsie moved back to El Rito where they were surrounded by their relatives. They remained in El Rito until Elsie had a sudden illness and they moved in with their sons and families in the Española Valley.
