Emma Lopez

EMMA U. LOPEZ , 93, a resident of La Puebla passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, December 8, 2018.  She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Willie (Lydia) Ernesto (Olivama) Samuel (Tonia) Martha, and Emilio Jr. Martinez; and one grandson, Angelo Lopez Sr. She was born on July 21, 1925 in Chimayo, NM, she was the daughter of Emilio and Primitiva (Trujillo) Martinez. Emma loved flowers and plants and gardening in her younger years when she was able to take care of them. She worked for the Zia Co. for many years. Emma is survived by her three sons, Bert (Tessie) Charlie (Roxana) Ted (Colleen) Lopez and one brother, Bidelio Martinez; 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.  Public visitation will begin on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at Truth Ministries Calvary Chapel with a Memorial service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo, with a burial to follow at Potrero Cemetery with the follow serving as pallbearers, Darren Lopez, Carlo Lopez, Theodore Lopez, Angelo Lopez, Bert Lawrence Lopez and Karlo Serrano. The family of Emma U. Lopez has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
