Cristobal Lucero

Cristobal Alejandro Lucero, a resident of Chama, originally of Lumberton, was born October 09, 1945 in Chromo, Colorado to Antonio and Fabiana Lucero, and passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2017. He is preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Fabiana Lucero; sister, Olivia Zepeda; and in-laws, Jose D. and Antonia Gutierrez. Cristobal is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Mary O. Lucero; children, Cristina Lucero of Chama, Sandra Apache (Cimarron) of Dulce, Abigail Gonzales (Daniel) of Chama, Alex Lucero, Phillipe Lucero (Heather), and Horacio Lucero all of Lumberton; grandchildren, Jessica Lucero, Daniel King, Nicole Lucero, Andrea King, Micheal Quintana, Erwin King Jr., Elvin King, Jose Sanchez, Sammy Vasquez, Monique Vasquez, Angel Acosta, Jasmine Gonzales Danielle Gonzales, Eloisa, Elena, Alex Jr., Mariana, Savanna, Fabiana, Matias, Phillipe Jr., Wyatt, and Horacio Lucero Jr; 30 plus great-great grandchildren; siblings, Carol (Paul) Gonzales, Precilla Carrillo, Frances (Lazaro) Miramontes, Bernadette Lucero, Ted (Pilar) Lucero, Crestino Lucero, Olivia (Hermalindo) Zepeda, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family that he loved and cherished very much. A rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Chama with a Memorial Mass to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Serving the family as pallbearers are Daniel King, Micheal Quintana, Erwin King Jr., Elvin King, Jose Sanchez, and Alex Lucero Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Jessica Lucero, Nicole Lucero, Andrea King, Danielle Gonzales, Jasmine Gonzales, Elena, Eloisa, Fabiana and Matias Lucero. The family of Cristobal Alejandro Lucero has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
