Frank D. Gallegos, 60, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, September 27, 2019. He was born on March 2 in Española. He started his career working in the propane industry and finished with bus driving at the Mesa Vista School District and owning and operating his propane business. He was a prior volunteer for the Ojo Caliente Fire Department and an active board member of the Ojo Caliente Water Association. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Eloisa Gallegos, and sister, Elsie Gallegos. He is survived by his three children, Natalie (Will) Segura, Ashley (Carlos) Sena, and Alex Gallegos; his grandchildren, Gabriela, Guillermo, Olivia and Elias; the mother of his children, Josephine Gallegos; mother in-law, Benita Baldonado; brothers, Leroy (Florina) Gallegos, Isidoro Gallegos, Henry (Lupe) Gallegos, and Manuel Gallegos; sisters-in-law, Diolynda Pena, Pauline Gallegos, and Patricia Lopez; brothers-in-law, Sam (Martha) Baldonado, Rubel Jr (Annabelle) Baldonado, Floyd (Priscilla) Baldonado, Herald (Lisa) Baldonado, John (Mona) Baldonado, and Danny Baldonado. Frank enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren as well as western movies and listening to Spanish music. He was always willing to help others, had a great sense of humor, and was a great problem solver who was humble and lived a simple life. He was an exceptional and courageous man. He is greatly missed by family, friends, and all whom have had the opportunity to know him. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at 5:30 pm in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 pm. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 4, 2019 at 10:00 am at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ojo Caliente. Burial to follow at the Las Tablas Cemetery with the following serving the family as pallbearers; Leroy, Isidoro, Henry, Manuel (Gallegos), Rubel Jr, Herald (Baldonado), William Segura and Carlos Sena. Honorary pallbearers are; Sam, Floyd, John (Baldonado) and all his grandchildren. The family of Frank D. Gallegos has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
