DORENE R. MONDRAGON, 61, a resident of Española, previously of Rio Chama, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2019, surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alejandro “Alex” Mondragon; paternal grandparents, Pedro and Beroniz Garcia; maternal grandparents, Juan and Raquel Salazar; brother, Richard Garcia; infant sister; in-laws, Maclovio and Floripa Mondragon and son-in-law, Gerald Vargas. Dorene was a well-known barber of 30 years. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren. She enjoyed the outdoors, the casino, traveling with her family. She had a heart of gold and loved everyone unconditionally. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Dorene is survived by her significant other of 35 years, Robert L. Romero; daughters, Francella Montoya (Chris), Loretta Mondragon and Monique Romero and companion Ricky Serna; step-daughters, Michelle Richards (Jeffrey) and Alicia Romero; parents, Delfin and Virginia Garcia; siblings, Sandra Maestas (Larry), Karen Gallegos, Cathy Martinez, Diane Gallegos (Jackie) and Delfin “Dale” Garcia, Jr.; grandchildren, Amber, Anthony and Andrew Martinez, Gabrielle and Alex Vargas, Kayla Medina, Angelique Vigil and Aden Serna; step-grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua, Jose and Marissa Richards, Esperanza, Emilia and Isaiah Romero, Ashley and Christen Montoya; great-grandchildren, Azaliah and Aziyah Sanchez and Elijah Vargas; step-great grandchildren, MarcJacob Martinez and Isaiah Diaz; Chris Martinez whom she considered like a son and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the San Jose Catholic Church in Hernandez with a memorial Mass to be celebrated immediately after at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow at the San Jose Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Alex Vargas, Anthony and Andrew Martinez, Aden Serna, Elijah Vargas and Aziyah Sanchez.
