Sixto DeAguero

d. September 16, 2017

Sixto Elifar DeAguero, age 83, a resident of Cuartelez went to be with the Lord peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, September 16, 2017.  Sixto was a strong man, who fought a long and hard battle to cancer.  Elifar was preceded in death by his parents, Florentino DeAguero and Juanita Montoya; brother, Oracio DeAguero; sisters, Gloria Trujillo, Prescilla Padilla, and Anita Fernandez; in-laws, Antonio Quintana, Elizida Quintana, Luisa and Cecilio Esquibel; brothers in-law; Carmen Trujillo, Alfonso Padilla, Epifanio Velarde, and Melcore Fernandez, Doro Quintana, Joe Martinez, and Sam Romero; sisters in-law; Estolia Martinez, Lucy Quintana; children; Michael DeAguero, Grandchildren; Baby Michael DeAguero, and Baby Kaycee Pippin.
Mr. DeAguero was a loving husband, father and grandfather.  He was family man, he loved his children but his grand children were his pride and joy.  He worked for over 25 year at the Los Alamos National Laboratory and retired in 1990.  When Mr. DeAguero was 22 years old he joined the United States Army.  He was released with an Honorable discharge.
He enjoyed going to the Santaurio to attend services when they were held outside under the trees and near the river, hearing the sound of the river in the background.   He enjoyed working on his vegetable garden, flowers and keeping his yard in tip top condition.   In 2010 he got a heart attack and Colon Cancer, from then on he couldn’t do much work without getting too tired.   He loved going out with his sons for long rides.  He also thought it was so much fun going to Las Vegas and going out to the various casinos in NM.  He didn’t like staying home much, so we would take him out to eat at his favorite restaurants almost on a daily basis.
Mr. DeAguero is survived by his beautiful wife Cornelia A. DeAguero of 61 years; his children, David DeAguero (Martha), Janet Silva (Julian), Judy Pippin (Bryon), Marsha Gallegos, Sixto Jr. (Violet), and Tony (Soraida); grandchildren, Davy DeAguero, Jerome DeAguero, Derrick Martinez, Ryan Silva, Nicole Gallegos, Christopher Gallegos, Alex DeAguero, Samantha DeAguero, Haley Pippin, Savanah DeAguero, BranDee DeAguero, Branden DeAguero and Jacob DeAguero;
