Reyna Martinez

Reyna Nichole Martinez, 32, a resident of Alcalde, went to her eternal home with our Lord on June 24, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She is preceded in death by her maternal great grandparents, Cornelio and Cruzita Valdez, Elefio and Antonia Salazar; grandmother, Viola Maestas; brother, Ricky Martinez; God parents, Eva and Eloy Lopez and God brothers Ivan Lopez and Nick Bustos. Reyna had a contagious smile that lit up a room. One of her greatest joys was being an aunt. She had a special place in her heart for animals and loved her baby Rico so much. Reyna worked in home health care and took such wonderful care of her grandfather.  She was always on top of the latest fashion trends and she loved her signature high heels.  She will be deeply missed. Reyna is survived by her parents Raymond Martinez and Gerri (Rick) Shaw; fiancé Zach Sanchez; sister Raylyne (Nathan); grandparents, Richard and Angie Valdez, and Aurelia Martinez, all of Alcalde; nephews, David, Kaiden Maxx, Mathias, Noah and Ricky; nieces, Maleah, Fiona and Jessica; Godmother, Louise Maestas (Lawrence) of Espanola; Goddaughter, Lina Gonzalez; God sister, Colleen, Jessica and Dana; special aunt, Belinda Valdez, and many other aunts, cousins and other relatives and friends. Recitation of the rosary will be on Thursday, June 29th 2017 at 8:00p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh. Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 30th, 2017 at 10:00a.m. also at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh, with burial to follow at La Villita Catholic Cemetery. Serving as a Pallbearer will be, Raylyne Lujan. Honorary Pallbearers are Nathan Romero, David Lujan, Adrian Valdez, Andrew Sanchez Jr., Abre Martinez, Jeremy Roybal, Nick Diaz, Juan Marcos Guerin, Jessica Garcia, Dana Maes, Melissa Aragon, Moraya Gutierrez, Christopher Blanco, Tanya and Steven VandenBusch and Heather Trujillo.  The family of Reyna Nichole Martinez has entrusted the care of their loved on to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley. 505-747-7477
