Priscilla Duran

Priscilla Gonzales Duran was born on January 22, 1934, to Antonio and Stella Gonzales in Jacona, NM. As an infant Priscilla moved with her parents to Tererro, NM where her father worked in the mines for many years. After the painful loss of her father to Tuberculosis, Priscilla returned to Jacona where she attended Pojoaque Schools, and was raised by her mother and grandmother, Berzabella Roybal. In 1949 she married Jose Gabriel Duran from El Rancho, where they settled and raised their beautiful family for 66 years. Priscilla is preceded in death by her parents, Antonio and Stella; her grandmother, Berzabella; her husband, Jose Gabriel and granddaughter, Ursula Duran. She is survived by her children, Albert (Loretta), Eileen (Tony), Steve, David (Elaine), Robert, Ronnie (Annette), Kathy (Fred), Bruce (Michelle), Beverly (Tim); her siblings, Gilbert, Amy, her best friend and special sister Donna, Tony, Fabiola, Charlotte, Susie and Mike; 34 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild whom she had yet to meet. A special mention of Karen, Eugene, and Grace. Priscilla was a great woman of faith and wisdom and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Public visitation will begin on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. at Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe de Valle de Pojoaque Church with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 9, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. also at Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe del Valle de Pojoaque Church with Internment to follow at the Pojoaque Catholic Cemetery with her sons serving as pallbearers. The family of Priscilla Gonzales Duran has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
