PATRICK VERNON MEDINA, JR., AKA “PJ”, 21, a resident of Peñasco, went to be with the Lord on Friday August 11, 2017 after a tragic car accident. He was preceded in death by his nana, Rosie Medina; great-grandparents, Alfred and Epifania Medina, Andronico and Leanarda Roybal, Louise and Patricia Herrera and Herman and Regina Valdez. PJ was born on July 21, 1996 in Taos. He graduated from Peñasco High School in 2014 and recently graduated with an associate in pre-engineering from UNM with honors. He was an employee of Los Alamos National Laboratory for the past 4 years at TA-53. He was such a kindhearted, compassionate, soft spoken loving person that was adored by many. He loved being with family and close friends making unforgettable memories. He had such a witty sense of humor that drew many people to him. PJ had such a love for sports and the outdoors. PJ is survived by his parents, Patrick and Yolanda Medina; sisters, Savanah Medina and Diana Blanco; grandparents, Obed Medina, and Orlando and Judy Montoya; aunts, Antionette Medina, Jackie Montoya, Vangie Montoya, and Stella Montoya (James); uncle, Orlie Montoya and numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, August 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Peñasco. Burial to follow at the San Pedro Cemetery in Peñasco, with a reception to follow at the Peñasco community center. The following serving as pallbearers, Orlie Montoya, Daniel Medina, Mario Romero, Steven Vigil, Jason Medina, Matias Romero, Anthony Sanchez, Donevon Sanchez and Michael Martinez.
