Maria Leyba

Maria Leyba, age 90, passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, Narciso and Antonia Tapia-Martinez; husband, Tobias Leyba; sons, Hipolito I, Hipolito II, Richard and Guadalupe Leyba; daughter, Diana Leyba; sister, Margaret Archuleta; brother Maximiliano Martinez; granddaughter, Doreen Baca, and son-in-law Lorenzo Martinez. Maria is survived by her son Andres Leyba and wife Helen of Rifle, Colorado; daughters, Ruth Serrano and husband Tranqilino of Espanola, Rebecca Martinez of Canjilon, Elfa Martinez and husband Adan of Canjilon, Theresa Beavers of Espanola, Priscilla Leyba of Espanola, and Lillian Leyba of Alcalde; sons, Rudy Leyba from Canjilon, Florentino Leyba of Santa Fe, Alex and granddaughter whom she helped raise, Reyna Leyba both of Canjilon, and Toby and wife Belinda of Canjilon; half siblings, Frank, Teresa, Lorraine and Lila. Public visitation will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. A rosary will be recited on Friday, August 19, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Church in Canjilon, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held at Canjilon Catholic Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers are Reyna, Lynda, and Felicia Leyba, Samantha Buglovsky, Phoebe Martinez, Valentina Hepps, Angela Serrano, Donisha Medina, Barbara Leyba and Darlene Martinez, honorary pallbearers are the rest of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
