LORRAINE VELASQUEZ, 62, a resident of Canjilon, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 01, 2017. She was preceded in death by her son, Ambrose Velasquez; mother, Cordelia Segura; grandparents, Jose and Maria Segura; brother, Joey Segura, sister, Dora Segura; mother and father-in-law, Lucrecia and Gomisindo Velasquez; son-in-law, Brian Montano. Lorraine had a very strong testimony of our Lord Jesus Christ. She prayed daily and had grown to love the power of the Chaplet of the Devine Mercy and the Holy Rosary. She loved her husband with all of her heart, and raised her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren to always be grateful for what the Lord had given them, and to display this appreciation through prayer. Lorraine is survived by her husband, Phil Velasquez; children, Noella Montano, Jessica Vigil and husband Anthony, Edwinia Rivas and husband Nathan, Phil Velasquez Jr. and wife Sarah, Lorenzo Velasquez, Teresa Torrez and husband Jose, and Damian Velasquez and wife Jennifer; brother, Robert Segura (Celina); uncle and aunt whom raised her like a daughter, Ralph and Helen Larranaga; 29 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, and numerous nieces, nephews, Godchildren, cousins and friends. Public visitation will begin on Saturday, November 04, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A second rosary will be recited on Sunday, November 05, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at the San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Church in Canjilon. Mass of Christian will be celebrated on Monday, November 06, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. also at the San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Church, with a burial to follow at the Canjilon Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers, David Segura, Joseph Segura, Nathan Segura, Ralph Larranaga III, Steven Larranaga and Ricardo Cordova. The family of Lorraine Velasquez has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
