Lorraine Chavez

Lorraine M. Chávez, 70, a resident of Española went to be with our Heavenly Father on Saturday, September 23, 2017.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Calletano and Audilia Martinez; brothers-in-law, Ruben Lopez and Albert Cordova; niece, Desiree Gonzalez; father and mother-in-law, Pete J. Chávez, Sr. and Magdalena G. Chávez; nephew, Pete J. Chavez III, may they all rest in peace.  Lorraine is survived by her husband of 48 years, Pete J. Chávez Jr.; her two sons, Dr. Tom A. Chávez and Chris R. Chávez; brothers, David, Steven, Jake and Alan; sisters, Cleo Lopez, Grace Cordova, Sylvia Gonzalez and husband Bobby, Carol Quintana and husband Justin; sisters-in-law, Manuelita Chávez; brothers-in-law, Manuel R. Chávez and wife Beverly; Sammy Chávez and wife Linda; as well as many nieces and nephews.  Lorraine enjoyed crocheting, cooking for her family and playing with her dog Lulu.  We honor Lorraine for her genuine warmth, compassion, and love.  We will miss you dearly. Public visitation will begin on Wednesday September 27, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a Devotional service to follow at 7:00 p.m.. Funeral service will be held on Thursday September 28, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at The Lighthouse Church in Chimayo, with a burial to follow at the Assembly of God Cemetery in Chimayo.  Serving the family as pallbearers will be Alan Martinez, Joseph Cordova, Peter Archuleta and wife Pearl, Jerry Vasquez and wife Belinda, Manuel Chavez Jr., Justin Chavez; honorary pallbearer will be Jeremy Maez.  The family of Lorraine M.
