Joan Quintana

Joan D. Quintana, 80, died Thursday, June 8, 2017 on the eve of her birthday in the arms and prayers of her devoted family. Born June 9, 1936 in Española, New Mexico to Virgil Drace and Mary Sleeth, she lived a happy and meaningful life. Joan carried the love of many, no more than from her husband Mike F. Quintana who preceded her in death on March 28, 2015.  The memory of Joan’s love and life will live on forever in her daughter Luanna Valerio, sons Greg, Eric, and Robert, and her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The eldest son Greg has sons Michael, A.J. and Max, Sean and wife Vicki have children Alexis, Adam and Sienna, son Justin and Liz have daughter Kaylee, and son Dante. Louanna, Joan’s second child and only daughter, with husband Patrick, have son Daniel and wife Melissa with children Joshua, Alicia and a soon-to-arrive new great-grandbaby, and sons Anthony and Isaac. Joan’s second son Eric with wife Celina, have sons Eric Jr. and Daven. Joan’s youngest son Robert has children Elisa and Dominic “Rocco”, and Deanna with her children Miranda and Levi. Joan cared deeply for her sister, Virginia Swanson, and her brothers Robert Dutch Drace, Frank Drace and Little Virgil Drace.  Those who knew Joan, as friend, as mom, or as grandma, witnessed a strength not seen in many, with passion and praise for the ones she loved, her tenderness and understanding was beyond reproach. She is the light that will burn forever in the hearts of those whom she loved. You will be missed, but never ever forgotten. A rosary will be recited on Monday, June 19, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Canada, with a Memorial mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. The family of Joan D.
