Horacio Gutierrez

Horacio Gutierrez, 72, a resident of Chama, passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2017. He was born on December 7, 1944 in Snowflake, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Gutierrez; mother, Delfinia Gutierrez; brothers, Leroy and Harold Gutierrez and niece, Janice. Horacio was a hardworking man. He worked for 30 years as a Lumber Grader at the Saw Mill. He was a very loving husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Gutierrez is survived by his wife, Lupe Gutierrez; daughter, Rachel Blea and husband John Blea; grandchildren, Amanda Blea-Segura (Martin), Chris Blea (Lynn), Gabriel Blea (Marissa), 6 great grandchildren and Paul Herrera; sisters, Margaret Quintana (Eddie), Jordy Navejas (Zeke), Isabell Wheaton (Kelly) and Martha Delgado; brothers, Tommy Gutierrez (Ramona), Paul Gutierrez and several nieces and nephews. A rosary will be recited on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Chama with a Memorial Mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at the Chama Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Chris Blea, Gabriel Blea and Amanda Blea. Honorary pallbearers will be his 6 great grandchildren. The family of Horacio Gutierrez has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
